Ambition Group Limited was established in Sydney in August 1999 and listed on the Australian Securities Exchange (ASX: AMB) in November the same year. Its founders, Paul Lyons and Nick Waterworth, are two of the Asia-Pacific region’s most experienced recruitment professionals.

Paul Lyons
Co-Founder & Group Managing Director

Paul has been a Board member since the company’s inception in August 1999. He is based in our Sydney office and has an operational focus on the Ambition and Accountability business in Australia. Prior to establishing Ambition, Paul was Managing Director, Asia-Pacific for another high profile international recruitment business, having started his recruitment career with the same firm in 1983.

Paul holds a degree in Accounting and Financial Administration from the University of Wales, is a qualified chartered accountant in England and Wales and an associate of the following institutes: Institute of Chartered Accountants in Australia, CPA Australia and the Institute of Internal Auditors.

Nick Waterworth
Chairman

Nick was appointed Chairman in June 2003 and has been a board member since the company’s inception in August 1999. He is based in Sydney and has operational responsibility for the group’s executive search business, Watermark. Prior to establishing Ambition, Nick was Managing Director, Australia for another high profile international recruitment business, having started his recruitment career with the same firm in 1984.

Nick holds a degree in Economics from York University.

Guy Day
Chief Executive

Guy has been a Board member since May 2011. He is based in our Singapore office and has responsibility for the Ambition brand globally where he is charged with long-term business growth and providing direction to the Asia, UK and Australian operations. Guy has lived and worked in Asia since January 1997 and joined Ambition in January 2001 to establish the company’s Hong Kong office. Prior to Ambition, Guy worked for another high profile international recruitment business having started his career with them in the UK in 1995

Guy holds a degree in Business Studies from Nottingham Trent University.

Paul Young
Non Executive Director

Paul Young was appointed a Non-Executive Director of the company in September 1999. He is the co-founder and a director of Baron Partners Limited, a well-established corporate advisory business, and has been in merchant banking in Australia for more than 25 years. He has extensive experience in the provision of corporate advice to a wide range of Australian and foreign listed and unlisted companies including restructurings, capital raisings, initial public offerings and mergers and acquisitions. A qualified chartered accountant in England and Wales, Paul holds a degree in economics from the University of Cambridge, an Advanced Diploma in Corporate Finance and is a Fellow of the Australian Institute of Company Directors.

Paul is Chairman of Tidewater Investments Limited, Chairman of Lazco Limited, Director of Thomas & Coffey Limited, and Director of several other private companies.

Andrew Adamovich
Non Executive Director

Andrew Adamovich was appointed a Non-Executive Director of the company in May 2006. He is the founder and Managing Director of Riverland Capital, an investment firm active in growth and expansion stage direct investments in China. Riverland is appointed by CIR S.p.A. as exclusive advisor in the origination, execution and management of private equity investments in Asia.  Andrew began his career at Peregrine Investments in Hong Kong in 1997, holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from University of California, Berkeley, and graduated from Phillips Academy, Andover MA.

Andrew is a director of G2 Therapies, Yuan Chuan Radio Advertising, China Education Corporation and Amara Enterprises.  He is also a consulting director to the Pacific Harbor Group, a member of the Advisory Committee of Rimasia Capital, and an Observer to the Advisory Committee of AIF Capital.
